On Friday morning we had Declan's baby well check.  Finally, just 2 1/2 weeks late.  Poor 3rd child.  Everything went well.  Our little man weighed in at 21 pounds, 6 ounces, and measured 30 inches long.    That puts him in the 25th percentile for weight, and the 50th percentile for height.  He's tracking a little more closer to Aiden than he is Liam.  Aiden was 21 lbs, and 31 inches at his 1 year check.  Liam was 25 pounds, 30 inches.  He still feels and looks so little to me, probably because Liam is so solid and has always been.

The Dr. when through her normal routine questions to find out about his development, to make sure he's on track.  It's always starts like this....  Is he saying at least 4 words, how many times a day is he nursing, and how much do you think he's getting?  Is he sleeping well, how many naps is he on?  And so on.  And it always ends like this..... Well, obviously he's walking, is he running?  Is he kicking a soccer ball?  We always giggle.  Because we all know our kids are kicking a soccer ball before they actually really know that they are kicking a soccer ball.

I'm still nursing, and pumping.  And while we've introduced him to dairy via cheeses and yogurts, we have yet introduced him to cows milk.  Not really sure when we'll do this, it'll probably still be a little while.  I plan on nursing as long as he wants to/or when Alex makes a big enough stink about it.  I nursed Aiden till he was about 14/15 months.  Liam was a little older.  I didn't fully wean Liam till he was 20 months.  (gasp!  I know, it's not for everyone.  Judge if you want, it's ok.  Back in my less educated days, I used to judge too.)  I've now nursed through 3 kids, and with each one I have learned more and more about it's benefits, therefore, leading me to my decision to do so.  It's amazing how much more you learn with each child. And when it's your last child, it's a little harder to let go as well.

We have to go back next week for shots.  We have our sweet niece's first birthday party this weekend, and since there's the Chicken Pox vaccine in the one year shots, she recommend that we wait till Monday.
