Aiden picked the theme, I may or may not have tried to sway him in another direction. I knew the day was coming when he was going to want a soccer party. Who was I kidding? Heck, I'm lucky I had 8 years of getting away with it. I'm not a fan of the black and white soccer ball themey party. I didn't want it to be cheesy, so I decided I would try to throw in a little vintage touch by adding in a Kraft color, different shades of green, and utilizing different patterns other than the standard hexagon soccer ball pattern. Have you ever tried to draw a soccer ball? Go ahead try it. If you can draw a perfect hexagon multiple times over again, you are super talented.
Here is my happy version of a soccer party...
The cake. Made by yours truly. It really needs it's own post (to come). It was one of those things, where I planned on making this ball. Didn't really know if it was going to turn out, so I had a plan B. I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and plan A worked! It wasn't perfect by any means, but it was perfect for my little guy! He was so excited when he saw me place the ball portion on top of the bottom portion.
Costco pizza!!!! Easy and inexpensive! Oh, and have you tried their Chinese Chicken Salad Kits! YUM! Easy, and people usually love it because it's light and something different. I kit fed 50 people.
